New Year's Resolutions

I don't make resolutions because I usually don't last more than a week anyway.  But I found something for those who plan on starting a diet in the New Year.

Rules for Dieting

1.  If you eat something and no one sees you eat it, it has no calories.

2.  If you drink a diet soda with a candy bar, the calories in the candy bar are cancelled out by the diet soda.

3.  When you eat with someone else, calories don't count if you don't eat more than they do.

4.  Food used for medicinal purposes never counts, such as hot chocolate, brandy, toast, and Sara Lee Cheesecake.

5.  If you fatten up everyone else around you, then you look thinner.

6.  Movie-related foods do not have additional calories because they are part of the entire entertainment package and are not part of one's personal fuel, such as Milk Duds, buttered popcorn, Junior Mints, Red Hots, and Tootsie Rolls.

7.  Cookie pieces contain no calories.  The process of breaking causes calorie leakage.

8.  Things licked off of knives and spoons have no calories if you are in the process of preparing something.  Examples are:  peanut butter on a knife while making a sandwich; ice cream on a spoon while making a sundae.

9.  Foods that have the same color have the same number of calories.  Example:  spinach and pistachio ice cream; mushrooms and white chocolate.  Milk chocolate is a universal color and may be substitued for any other food color.

We went to visit Bill's dad today.  He actually knew who we were.  That's encouraging.  Of course next time he might not know us.  He was in good spirits and looked in good health too.  We stayed and ate lunch with him.

Bill's mom got out of the hospital today.  She had hernia surgery the other day.  She seems to be doing well.

We went out to Medicine Park the other day to eat homemade ice cream at the shop there only to find out that they have gone out of business.  I guess we didn't eat enough there.  So we went to Meers and had cobbler and ice cream instead.  I got a few pictures of the snow while we were on the Refuge.

Photo of the day:  There was ice on the lights but it doesn't seem to be showing up in the picture.  The water below was frozen.
