New Phones

We've been having so much trouble with the so called smart phones that we went to AT&T and switched them out with something that we both could handle.  Mine is just a simple, basic phone.  Bill's still has a touch screen but it's not a smart phone and we don't have to pay for a data plan.  That will lower the bill quite a bit.  I think.  We'll see.

We went to the VA Center to talk to them about getting Bill's dad in the nursing home.  The VA won't pay for the home he is in right now.  Bill's sister is checking into getting Medicaid to pay for it.  We'll just have to wait and see which one works out.  He definitely can't go home.  Bill has power of attorney so we don't have to wait for his mom to sign things.  It's very hard to get her motivated to do anything.  She really needs to be in an assisted living place.  But that would just about wipe her out financially.  The VA looks pretty promising for his dad anyway.

The world seems to be getting more and more complicated all the time.  We have so much paper work that we have to get together for his dad and just for ourselves.  The bills that we have to pay, tax returns, all kinds of stuff.  It can get confusing sometimes.  I have to sit down and sort it all out.  I wish they wouldn't tax us on just about everything.  Someday they'll tax the air we breathe.  Or are they already doing that?

Photo of the day:  Christmas lights.  The photo was taken a couple of years ago.  We didn't get around to looking at the lights this year.

The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.  This is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.  This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:22-24
