The bird nest is still there and the guy mowed the area too. I guess his mower is set pretty high, that's OK. They haven't hatched out yet. I would be surprised to see them survive once they do hatch. We have a LOT of stray cats around here. Mama bird will have a rough time protecting them.
DH went over to his dad's home to mow the yard and discovered that their lawn mower is missing. Apparently someone stole it. They will have to buy another mower before he can mow for them. Our lawn mower won't fit in the car so we can't haul it over there. FIL has had a terrible time finding someone he can pay to mow it. People want a fortune to do it and it's a very small yard.
Photo of the day, a quilt that I made many years ago for a friend's graduation.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:3-12

What a nice quilt! Reminds me very much of the 70's; I love it. I do so hope the birds make it, honestly. I get so tired of hearing about all the animals that are hurt or killed these days (LHC readings)...So glad you had some beautiful weather. It has been a bit chilly here, though supposed to hit into the 80's beginning tomorrow. Not my favorite weather, by any means.
I hope the birds make it, and that the cats don't get to them! Your quilt is beautiful. You are one talented lady :).
Pretty quilt!
Check with some Boy Scout troops and see if someone would adopt him for the summer... maybe it might work toward a merit badge or for someone working on his Eagle Scout? I've been out of scouting too long to remember what badges that would help someone earn.
