Scruffy

We took Scruffy for a walk over at the university. She used to love going there because there are lots of squirrels. She seems to have forgotten about them, she acted like she did in any other park. On the way home she really freaked out in the car, started whining like someone was stepping on her. When we got home I carried her into the house because when she's like this she just takes off running as hard as she can and I didn't want her to run out in front of a car. She did her running in the house and plowed into the freezer, that calmed her down, didn't hurt her. I don't think we'll take her in the car anymore except for certain things like going to the vet. It's just to stressful, for all of us.

Had an interesting visit with Nada today. Her story has changed. Now she says that I totally misunderstood her, she just loves Josh. She said pretty much the same thing to Terri the Division Director. The woman has the mind of a child. You really can't communicate with her at least not on an adult level. So I'll just have to talk to her the way that I talk to one of the 6 year old kids. Sigh. On a positive note, she does have the desire to serve the Lord, to work somewhere. In spite of all her mental problems. We have so many capable adults who refuse to do anything. Also, in spite of the fact that she gets offended very easily she and her husband have been church members for many years. I have met some people who get offended only once and quit coming.

Photo of the day, DH and Scruffy at the museum back when she was still able to ride in the car without freaking out.

Oh! Poor Scruffy! Running into the freezer would probably slow me down, too!

Does the vet have any suggestions for why she's having issues? The Porky Yorkie goes nuts when he rides in the car, so we have doggie downers for him.

My FIL was easily offended when things didn't go just how he wanted. We finally got fed up with being manipulated and let him be offended.

The vet said that she is getting senile. She is also losing her sight and hearing so she's uncomfortable in the car.
