Day Off

We had freezing rain and sleet all night and most of the day. It's so white out there it looks like snow until you walk on it. Then you discover that it's ice. Last year DH bought some rubber things with metal studs on them to put on shoes to walk on ice. This is the first time we were able to use them. They work great. I wouldn't be able to walk Sassy without them. We stayed home from work along with a lot of other people. There were a lot of wrecks yesterday and quite a few more today.

I enjoyed our day off. Took 2 naps, did laundry, baked a chocolate cake, worked on my sweater, watched 2 movies. The bad part was having to take Sassy outside. She wasn't too thrilled to walk on that cold white stuff at first but she got used to it.

Photos of the day, the first one is a view of the ice in the neighborhood.

This photo is my Iris bed. They look pretty pathetic but they'll come out in the spring.

This is first block of one of the quilts that I'm working on. This will be a pillow quilt for DH.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put devious lips far from you, let your eyes look directly ahead, and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; turn your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:23-27
